Jerry L. Mawer, 67, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at his residence.

Jerry was born June 9, 1942, in Mansfield to Ronald R. and Mary (Stevens) Mawer and had spent most of his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Salvation Army.

Surviving are his mother, Mary (Stevens) Mawer of Mount Vernon; his sisters, Shirley (Richard) Bayless and Barbara Byrd, both of Mount Vernon; and his brother, Ronald Earl Mawer of Mount Vernon.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee Mawer Jr.; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Mawer and Tina Marie Mawer; his father, Ronald R. Mawer; and a brother, Richard Mawer.

Funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour before the funeral. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery.
